The female body in dance epitomizes the concept of peace. The dichotomy of peace, which calls for the negation of the opposite idea such as conflict or war, is the perfect analogy of what dance is considered to be. In this lecture performance, we attempt to show how Peace is described in artistic performances, intertwined with the femininity and the national/cultural/bodily boundaries.
As a dialogue between Nanako and artists, the audience will see how the concept of peace dances and/or how dance conceptualizes peace. The invited artists will be luciana achugar (NY/Uruguay) and Kei Takemura (Berlin/Japan).
