In this installation choreographer Klaas Devos introduces a peace concept to the spectator that can only be revealed through its own destruction. Even then only revealing the emptied-out, post-ideological and commercialized make-over of its previous powers.
As a young performance artist with backgrounds in music-, theater- and dance-study it?s rather hard to concrete my position in the everflowing contemporary performance scene. I combine my fascinations in presentation-arts by handling dance-theater, improvisation and multi-media in installations, These projects process in collaboration with other young artists and researchers.
January 2008 I started the Post-graduate Performance training with my own research program vIrIon - the complete, infective form of a virus outside the host cell - based on the title of my last theater-dance production I created in context of my graduation at the Higher Institute for Dance in Belgium.
This researchproject lead me to the initiative to create a new solo inspired on the essential aspects of Performance Arts and questioning the role of the performer as a (scientific) researcher.
